2006 was marked by a comprehensive review of the whole collection of technical manuals, which is now fully new both in its layout and content. The new technical manuals were subdivided into 4 sub-collections and each of them is made up of more books covering the following subjects: Combustible gas

The collection of the joint UNI-Sole 24 Ore books, resulting from the agreement with the editorial group for the publication of deliverables bearing joint logos, increased, by the addition of three new titles: - The new UNI EN ISO 14001. Practical guide for the development and application of an environmental management system
- UNI EN ISO 14001 and EMAS in local authorities. Guide to the implementation of an environmental management system through the instruments of the environmental sustainability of territory
- Design of wood structures. Eurocode 5 and technical standards for construction and building.
As to the collection of practical manuals, some books were withdrawn, while a new one on quality, titled “A changing world of quality” was published.
Moreover, a new guideline, freely available and titled “Apply the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard on university educational activity”, was realised. Electronic deliverables
During this year, the offer of UNI CD-ROM on the main topics of technical standardization (quality, environment, safety, building, maintenance, mechanical constructions etc) got stronger and richer thanks to a new product “SAFE MACHINERY - Wood chain” and the new edition of “RCD - PLEASURE BOATING”.
We also kept on publishing the so called “tailored” products, that is the ones in compliance with specific customers’ needs and, while exploiting the increased internal resources, we are able to offer a good and quite competitive product in terms of content and sale price.
The titles of the CD-ROM issued in 2006 are: - ANIMA: Safety of lift trucks. Harmonized standards complying with the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC
- APCO: Management consulting. Processes, expertise and certification
- ASSOBETON: Cement products, standards and legislation. Products, design and test methods
- ASSTRA: Normative framework covering tram, railways and underground sector.
Moreover, we issued the new edition of the CD-ROM UNIEDIL CPD - Construction Products, a comprehensive collection of UNI standards in compliance with the Directive 89/106 “Construction products” and of the CD-ROM ”Eurocodes”, an indispensable tool, grouping the calculation rules for the design of buildings (buildings and works of civil engineering) and of the relevant structural elements, as well as the rules for checking the conformity of structural components with the essential requirements n. 1 (mechanical resistance and stability) and n. 2 (safety in case of fire) of the Directive 89/106 on construction products.
In 2006 the publication of the so called “electronic books” continued, in support of the application of the AEEG 168/04 Resolution. These documents result from the cooperation with the Authority for Electric Energy and Gas, the Association for the Protection of Electrolytic Corrosion APCE, the Italian Technical Gas Association and the Italian Gas Committee CIG.
