When the document is opened for the first time, the DRM system verifies the customer access privileges on the UNI server. During this test the computer must be connected to Internet. The privileges will be saved locally on the computer and will be valid for the time period set by the DRM system.

As long as the local privileges are valid, the customer can use the document on his/her computer even when he/she is not connected to Internet. Upon expiry of the local privileges, the DRM system will make a new check on the UNI server. Is required that the computer is connected to Internet to check the privileges: it will not possible to use the document until the privileges are renewed by the UNI server.

Please note: we recommend that you save the document to your computer before opening it, to avoid saving the document in a hidden temporary folder.
A document protected by DRM can be used only on the computer / device on which it was opened for the first time. The DRM prevents to open the same document on another computer, such as a network server. Before opening a document, make sure you saved it on the computer on which the document will be used.
