Every year, the Sustainability Report clearly and transparently illustrates how UNI’s activities generate value for people, enterprises, society and the Country.
Through data, results and projects, the Report describes the impacts of the past year and the commitments that guide our future decisions.
It is a vital tool for understanding the contribution of standardisation to sustainable development and for sharing with all stakeholders the value created by our organisation.
Produced entirely within UNI and supported by a structured system for collecting and analysing information, the Report offers a concrete picture of our pathway.

At UNI, people are at the heart of our idea of sustainability, understood in the widest sense of the term. We firmly believe that business success comes from the ability to create a working environment in which everyone feels valued, supported and enabled to grow.

A choice that also represents an investment in UNI’s future, given that our workforce today has an average of over twenty years’ experience and continues to evolve thanks to the integration of new professional generations.

We signed the UNECE (Gender Responsive Standards Declaration) and apply the UNI/PdR 125:2022 internally to ensure consistency and fill any gaps.

UNI HUB is a self-managed group born to provide a structured space for discussion, gathering ideas and proposals, fostering an open and constructive working environment.

A central area of UNI's welfare and inclusion policies, which includes parenting and work-life balance.
Other activities
Not only standardization, UNI promotes awareness and a culture of health and safety at work among its employees: medical check-ups, training, and monitoring of work-related stress and organizational climate.
UNI is making available documents specifically formatted for reading via assistive technologies, used by people with visual impairments.
We are part of the Libellula Foundation since 2022 and we have a Libellula Ambassador at our headquarters, an internal figure trained to receive reports of violence and harassment outside of the workplace.

Dog@work
The Dog@work project, launched in 2017, allows UNI staff to bring his/her dogs to the office, provided that colleagues agree and that a few simple rules designed to protect both people and animals are followed.
In 2025, we revised the Regulations, taking into account a new by-law that emphasises the importance of acting responsibly and with care when deciding to share the workplace with a four-legged friend. Anyone bringing his/her dog to work must look after it, ensure it remains calm and handle it with care, as the owner is always responsible for any behaviour or damage that could occur.
This improves social interaction among people and fosters a positive working environment.
Our commitment to the environment
It is primarily through the production of technical standards that UNI exerts a significant indirect environmental impact. Our standards provide operational tools and guidelines that help businesses, public and private bodies to improve their environmental performance, encouraging the adoption of virtuous and innovative practices.
In this way, UNI helps to spread a culture of sustainability, promoting solutions that go far beyond its own.
